Fishing Articles & Bloggs:

We currently have my niece Jess & her boy friend Steve from Sydney staying with us - which has been entertaining  drinking25

Neither of them had caught anything larger than a bream - so I elected to take them out after some tuna on Wednesday. The weather was fantastic & we did manage to find some tuna up around Roonies - but they where flighty & we where having a few miss-information issues with my fuel management gauger - so we headed back early to chase a few flathead at moon point. Back at the ramp we ran into Eric Grell who told us the tuna bit their heads off on the tide change after we left ! He also said we should head back up again Thursday afternoon - as my houses would still be for sale on Friday  thanks

The weather was even better Thursday & I managed to wrap up work & get on the water around 1pm. It was a great run up the island & we arrived off Watumbah around 2pm to be greeted with schools of tuna all over the place !

It didn't take long to get Jess hooked up - with Steve busting one off at the same time.

The next fish Steve hooked was not a tuna - rather big slow tail beats & string short runs ? Unfortunately it pulled the hooks after 15 minutes  Cry

The action was fast & furious for a while with double hook ups being the norm - Jess was actually spooled to the arbor knot on one fish which I had to reverse after while Steve towed his fish along as he had more line !

The bite went right up to dark & it was hard to leave even then !

The outstanding lure was a pink 5" snap back on TT 1/2oz 3/0 HD head - Thanks again Eric  Wink

The fishing around Sydney will never be the same again for Jess & Steve - guess what we're having for dinner tonight  Wink

With another perfect day forecast, Jess & Steve were keen to end their trip in Hervey Bay with a couple more tuna

Jess kicked off the afternoon with a nice Mac Tuna for variety

Once back in "the" area it didn't take us long to locate some longtails. They were tougher this time round with the smaller tide & coming off the moon but we finally got our act together with Jess coming up tight again !

Fishing back around Sydney is never going to be the same again !

Next was Steve's turn - Longtails are great sport on these light 4000 - 6-8 kg Loomis spin sticks

The lure of choice was again the 5" Snapback in both pink & blue glimmer on TT 5/0H 1/2 oz heads
